PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

EPP MSI Scholar,

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association at  the University of Rhode Island(URI), Bay Campus

  •  Receive a two year scholarship and mentorship

  •  Create a deep-sea imaging system that transmits live footage over a fiber optic fishing line with 3D-printed molds and epoxy-potted electronics

  • Design several versions of a 3D-printed enclosure to fit the components of a Raspberry Pi-based deep-sea camera and lighting system that will be adhered to a UAV

  • Print in resin, wash and cure each of the designed elements

  • Travel to Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science to test the designed components

NOAA-EPP/MSI Scholarship

May 2020-August 2020

SURF Fellowship

SURF Intern,

Purdue University, West Lafayette

  • Conducted a literature review regarding machine tool cost models.

  • Created a machine tool cost model for a milling machine, linking the mass of the table with the reduction of carbon footprint emission during its operational stage.

June 2019-August 2019

NOAA-EPP Crest Scholar/Intern

Summer Bridge Program,

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association

  • Validated the accuracy of the Velodyne VLP-16 LiDAR sensor and designed a 3D printed mount allowing the sensor to be attached to a UAV in order to collect the data and explore the aerial capabilities of said sensor.

May 2019-August 2019

 Selected Student

Hardware Product Sprint

Program, Google.Inc

  • Created a unique product by designing a plastic enclosure in OnShape platform to fit the internal components of Google’s AIY voice kit.

  • Invited to “EVT week” at Google HQ to assemble, build, complete fit check, and present final 3D printed product and design review to Google hardware engineers and the HPS community.

Design Thinking Investigation, Human Centered Design Lab

  • Study the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities on UPRM individuals from a Design Thinking Perspective in order to improve the New Venture Design Experience Program by identifying key aspects and activities related to Design Thinking and Consumer Behavior.

  • Investigate what educational activities are more influential in student’s entrepreneurial journey.
